Rodman ED08 2.0: Coin-Size Titanium Light Specs

The most common complaint about keychain lights is that they do one thing. You get white light, maybe a strobe, and that is it. If you also want UV for checking stains, red for not wrecking your night vision, or a light that sits on a desk at an angle, you end up carrying two lights or none.

Rodman's ED08 2.0, which launched on Kickstarter on October 1, 2026, is a coin-size answer to that. It has a 300-lumen main beam plus side LEDs in several colors, all in a 36 g Grade 5 titanium body with a flip-out magnetic stand. Here is what it actually does and what the numbers mean in daily use.

What Changed From the Original ED08

Per New Atlas, the 2.0 keeps the size and battery of last year's model and changes these parts:

Core Specs

All figures are Rodman's, as reported by New Atlas and the campaign listing on BackerKit.

  • Size and weight: 36 x 34 mm (1.4 x 1.3 in), 36 g
  • Body: Grade 5 titanium, three finishes
  • Main beam: up to 300 lumens, up to 50 m (164 ft)
  • Side colors: warm white, red, UV, amber
  • Modes: four main-beam brightness levels and 10 modes including SOS and strobe, all on one button
  • Runtime: about 1 hour at 300 lumens, up to 20 hours at 5 lumens
  • Extras: magnetic base, 105-degree adjustable stand, IP68 rating (per the campaign title)

What Those Numbers Mean in Real Life

The 300 lumens is a short burst on a tiny cell. A 150 mAh battery is very small, roughly a third of the 450 mAh cell in a 10440 light like the OKNIFE MK. Rodman rates an hour at 300 lumens. No independent tests are out yet. For comparison, 1Lumen found the OKNIFE MK, with three times the battery, fell from 282 to 171 lumens after 10 minutes on High. Plan to use the lower levels for most tasks and treat 300 as a quick look-around.

5 lumens for 20 hours is the useful number. That is enough to find a keyhole, read a menu or walk a hallway, and it is where a light this size spends most of its life.

The stand and magnet make it a hands-free light. New Atlas says the reinforced stand now holds its angle, and the magnet sticks to steel or iron surfaces. That is the feature that makes it work as a tiny task light under a sink or on a car frame.

Amber replaced blue for a reason. Rodman says users asked for it. New Atlas reports the claim that amber cuts through darkness and smoke better.

UV is a checking light. A small UV LED is handy for spotting UV-reactive marks or stains. Rodman pitches it for detection.
