Gear Reviews

This hub collects single-product reviews, where one page covers one product in depth. Most of our product coverage lives in the topic hubs instead, such as Wallets, Flashlights or Camera, so start there if you are comparing options.

Our reviews describe products using maker specs: dimensions, weight, materials, features and price. We do not run our own lab or field tests, and we do not give star ratings. Each review explains who the product suits and where it falls short on paper compared with alternatives.

The two reviews here today cover the Ricoh GR IV Monochrome, a black-and-white pocket camera, and the Peak Design Travel line of backpack and packing tools. For more single-product coverage, browse the review posts inside each topic hub, where they sit alongside the roundups and comparisons for the same kind of gear. We plan to fold these reviews into their topic hubs over time, so the Camera and Travel hubs are the best places to find related comparisons, buying guides and alternatives to each reviewed product.
