DJI Osmo Pocket Review: Pocket-Sized 4K Gimbal Camera
DJI Osmo Pocket packs a 3-axis mechanical gimbal and 4K camera into a pocket-sized body. Our review covers specs, stabilization quality, and how it compares to GoPro action cameras.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 axis handheld gimbal, Just announced, as the name indicates, it may simply fit in your pocket, standing about four inches tall and weighing all of a quarter of a pound - it is the smallest gimbal which DJI has ever made. Unlike the bigger gimbals in the Osmo series of DJI, this new model has 1 inches touchscreen so you do not need a smartphone to see what you are recording.
However, for if you desire a viewfinder, the Osmo Pocket does come with USB-C and Lightning attachments, so that you can attach either your iPhone or Android smartphone. Initially, the DJI Osmo Pocket seems to be a real rival for the last GoPro's. It costs less and has some photo and video abilities. It's got a 1/2.3 inch sensor and may catch the 4K video at up to 60 frames per second at 100Mbps, and it could capture 12-megapixel pictures, that's the same great a quality as the latest batch of flagship smartphones. There are two integrated microphones on the apparatus to can capture audio, but videographers and vloggers will be glad a 3.5mm adapter can be purchased to add their very own mic.
The Osmo Pocket is designed first and foremost, as DJI's gimbals before it, to shoot at really stabilized videos. And after utilizing the Osmo Pocket it works, as you'd expect, really well. The DJI Osmo Pocket is effective at some other advanced techniques, like object and face so that the camera can rotate automatically to hold the person or object in the frame. The Osmo Pocket is able to catch time lapses, motion time lapses, and 4- and 9 image panoramas, too. Another neat thing is that with the Osmo Pocket, DJI declared a companion program, called Mimo, which enables photographers to shoot a manual mode, so that they can adjust things such as exposure in low light settings.

However, the Osmo Pocket seems like a no-brainer buys for YouTubers along with other vloggers. The mini gimbal is available for pre-order for $349. DJI says it’ll ship 12/15, so it’ll arrive at all those early orders before Christmas. If you’re wondering, many of DJI’s other Osmo gimbals, the Osmo and the Osmo Mobile 2, are now discounted on the company’s website.
