How each one holds keys

KeySmart calls the Classic the world's first compact key organizer. It holds up to 8 of your existing keys, cuts key jingle and accepts KeySmart add-on tools. The KeySmart Classic Red Forged Carbon ($34.99 at publish) ships with two screw sets, one for up to 8 keys and one for up to 14, plus a loop for a car fob.

KeyBar lists capacity by screw length. Its included screws hold up to 4, 6 or 8 keys or tools (1/2, 3/4 and 7/8 in), and extension screws sold separately take it to 10 or 12. KeyBar's description also says the included hardware holds up to 7 standard keys, so plan on 7 to 8 with the stock screws. The Aluminum KeyBar listing includes a hinged tin and a titanium key fob link.

Size, weight and materials

KeyBar lists the aluminum bar at 3.5 in long, 0.95 in wide at each rounded end and 1.25 oz. The aluminum is stonewashed, which KeyBar says hides wear. The titanium version shares the same frame dimensions. Its listing gave 3.9 oz at publish, which is much heavier than the aluminum figure, so check with KeyBar if weight matters to you.

KeySmart's Classic page doesn't give weight, size or material. If you want a lighter KeySmart for fewer keys, the KeySmart Mini holds 5 keys plus a car fob and was $14.99 at publish.
